The land on which I live, work and play is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Toronto is in the 'Dish With One Spoon Territory’. The Dish With One Spoon is a treaty made between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee that bind them to share the territory and protect the land. Subsequent Indigenous Nations and peoples, Europeans and all newcomers have been invited into this treaty in the spirit of peace, friendship and respect. This region is also covered by the Toronto Purchase, Treaty 13, the Head of the Lake Treaty, Treaty 14,, and Treaty 23, agreements between the Mississaugas of the Credit and the British Empire,
